Contemporary Theatre Word Searches
So, you think you know your contemporary theatre? Or, what the difference is between a theatre style and a movement? And who decides what is ‘modern’ and what is ‘contemporary’, anyway?
Well, these three word search puzzles cover 30 contemporary theatre styles and movements that have emerged from roughly 1945 to the present day. When you successfully locate a theatre movement or style in a puzzle, a pop-up will tell you what that style or movement is about, just in case you didn’t know.
The reason why these puzzles state ‘contemporary’ as 1945 onwards is that they align with the VCE Theatre Studies course. By its very nature, ‘contemporary’ will always be more recent than ‘modern’, but scholars will never agree on exact dates for contemporary theatre, so it’s best not to get too fussed about it!
